Marcos Alba

Marcos Alba has a new appreciation for the online school that his two daughters have to attend. Every day after work, Marcos attends Zoom classes provided by Laborers' Local 300 to receive training and grow his skillset, but he's come to realize that sitting through hours of virtual classes can be a challenge at any age. Fortunately, Marcos' diligence has paid off. After less than a year on the Project, he has already advanced to become a Level 3 Laborer Apprentice and is fast approaching another promotion.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Marcos worked as a truck driver before recently changing careers and joining the construction industry. He reached out to the union and underwent their intensive bootcamp, then joined the Project in April of last year. He has learned an incredible amount along the way, he says, and can be seen on the job site supporting any number of efforts to prepare the Project's TBMs for launch.

When he's not on the job, Marcos can be found hiking, working out or, more likely, spending time with his girls—as long as it's not over Zoom.
