Darryl Jackson

 
 

Darryl Jackson, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, served 2 years on a guided missile cruiser performing ship maintenance. Much of his time at sea was spent in the Persian Gulf. He is c urrently a Laborer Apprentice Period 1 from Local 300, working with SSW on the Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement Project.

Darryl got his start working in residential construction and decided he wanted to continue a career in the construction industry. Keeping his son's future in mind, he decided to join the union. He applied to the Laborers Academy School and completed the boot camp in December 2016. He has worked on other large construction projects in the Los Angeles area and was introduced to the Sixth Street project by SSW Jobs Coordinator Veronica Diaz.


Darryl is enjoying his time working on the Sixth Street Viaduct Project and will be proud to one day show his son the new iconic Los Angeles structure that his father helped to construct.
