Enrique Serrano is a member of Laborers' Local 300 Union and has three decades of experience in the industry. What does a Laborer do? If you ask Enrique, he will give the modest, self-effacing answer that his job is "moving stuff around." Of course, his work is much more involved.

Enrique works at ground level on the Project doing civil labor work, which involves unloading trucks, transporting deliveries and organizing materials around the construction site yard. A native of Los Angeles, Enrique enjoys working on a job that will impact his hometown. He has worked on tunnel projects before and sincerely enjoys what he does.

Enrique was inspired to pursue this line of work by his friend, Tony Olea, Sr., who was a union representative and encouraged Enrique to join the trades. Some of Enrique's uncles and close friends were union workers, so the job was essentially already in his family. Now, Enrique passes along the support he received by encouraging others to consider a career in construction.
