Monique Washington, a Laborer Journeyman raised in Los Angeles, was introduced to the construction industry 3 years ago and has enjoyed working in construction from the very start.
As a Laborer Journeyman, Monique works on some of the most physically demanding construction tasks on the project. Most recently she performed concrete sawcutting and says, "I'm good at it too!"
She finds a lot of comradery, and thrives on the brotherhood and sisterhood of her colleagues, working together from beginning to end, which brings her a lot of joy. Monique says her daughter is proud of how strong her mother is and that she is looking forward to showing her daughter new Sixth Street Viaduct that she helped build.
